Today is Daddy's birthday so he is heading out for a bike ride and then we are beach bound! Yeah! Can't wait to have some outdoor fun.
This is Savannah in the a.m. As soon as I got out of bed she moved to the couch and slept until 12:20 p.m.
Boppy's are not just for babies. We had to get her one of her own and she sleeps on it.

Newport Washout
So glad that Weather.com said that Wednesday through Sunday was going to be sunny and warm with a 30% chance of showers. How about an all day soaking yesterday where you get drenched just going from the car to the restaurant across the street and your feet are all wet from the puddles you had to hop through? No beach, no pool, no playground. We couldn't even walk around town it was rainingn so hard. Rich did a run with drizzle but the rain intensity just increased from then and we drove to go out to lunch and got soaked. Luckily next door was a really high end children's store with lots of "samples" out for Savannah to play with. I also got them some cute things and a gift I needed. Then we went across the street (got soaked again) to CVS and the Natural Food Store and then to Starbucks (at least it is dry in there). We went back to the room and just hung out so Seth could nap and showered and got ready for dinner. We again went across the street but the rain had stopped and the skies were clearing out. We had a great dinner at the historic Newport Inn.
For the first time Savannah went potty at the restaurant! We brought the portable Cushie Tushie. Whoo Hoo! She is doing awesome at the hotel and telling us more and more! She is really getting the hang of the potty thing. So proud of her! She loves her Everyone Poops book that was written by a Japanese author and orginally published in Tokyo in 1977! The trivia you discover while sitting the bathroom with your child!

Mystic Seaport
Here are our photos from Mystic Seaport on Saturday. It was a glorious day. Mystic is one of my favorite places in CT. It is about 50 minutes away from us. We walked around, went shopping, played at the park, ate dinner, and had famous ice cream at the Drawbridge Ice Cream Shop. It was a wonderful time.
Me and my kiddos in one of my fav places in CT
Savannah sat here and said "Picture." My beautiful flower in the garden.

5 Months Today--Hip, Hip, Hooray!
I really cannot believe my babyis 5 months already. It doesn't seem that long ago that he was 5 days and 5 weeks and now 5 months. Next month he will be 1/2 a year. This is kind of emotional week for me with Seth, because I am thinking of his birthmother as she celebrated her 21st birthday on Monday. I hope she is well, at peace and somehow knows how much he is loved and that he is a gift from above.
Seth is doing great! He grabs everything, coos all the time, sleeps like a champ, and eats and enjoys everything you give him. He can roll from his tummy to back and back to side. He just gets stuck to go all the way from back to tummy. Soon though. He can sit supporting is body with his hands and is trying to crawl. He can sit in an exersaucer without any blankets behind him now. He is alert and smart and wonderful. We all love him with all our hearts.
Since he is 5 months here are 5 fun facts about Seth...
1. He LOVES his burp cloth. That can almost always make him happy!
2. He is a morning person (unlike me and Savannah). He is in a great mood when he gets up and greets you with the biggest smile, which makes you forget how early it is and how little sleep you got.
3. He is a mama's boy. He follows my voice and if he can hear me and not see me, he is not happy.
4. He is NOT a car baby. He will cry for the entire trip (long or far) if he is not sleeping. He doesn't like anything about riding in the car.
5. He doesn't like socks or his feet covered. If I put him to bed or nap with socks instead of feetie pj's, somehow he gets his socks off. Savannah is the same way.

Chuck E. Cheese, Please!
We had Savannah's 3rd Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese and she LOVED it. She has been asking to go back for months and we told her she can go back when she goes on the potty. Well, she got her reward yesterday and Monday at 6:00 p.m. is the perfect time to go--it wasn't crowded and all the games, rides, and toys were available and Rich took some great poses and action shots with the new camera. After she did all she wanted to do she was ready to go with no issues too. What a great time. Seth was so stimulated by the music, lights, games, etc. that he stayed up the entire time and then slept in the car on the way home. Whoo Hoo, since we don't have a car baby. He usually cries the entire way.
Tomorrow our new mother's helper starts, which is the perfect time since we are leaving for vacation tomorrow night and I need to get packing. We are very excited--tomorrow Seth turns 5 months, we are going to Newport, RI and staying across the street from the beach, Friday we are taking the ferry to Martha's Vineyard for Rich's birthday, and Saturday we are going to Providence, RI and out to Ruth Chris Steak House for dinner. We have never been there, but Rich only has steak on his birthday!
