Exploring Tokyo

We have been having tons of fun exploring this large, clean, vast city called Tokyo. It is like a large scale New York and London combined. We are staying in a great area called Roppongi. It is the nightlife district and also has a lot of Western restaurants. Our favorite two areas are Roppongi Hills and Midtown so far. You could shop and eat a different place for a year here. It is an ecclectic mix of many cultures.

Yesterday we ventured out beyond Roppongi. We went to the Sibuya District, which replicates Times Square, just on a bigger scale. We went to a great market and got yummy things to eat and Starbucks. We walked around just a little and took pictures because it was very busy and crowded. We went to one high end department store. After that we went on the subway to Babies R Us which was in a really nice mall called Olinas. The area was fun with lots of shopping.

Today is kind of gray and rainy out, so we are going to Kitty World--a 5 story toy store. We are planning on a lot more touring and visiting. We want to take in as much as our son's birth country as we can while we are here.

We rented a swing and is working out great! Savannah enjoying spaghetti at Wolfgang Puck. She is starting to twirl it on a fork. Wolfgang Puck was great and they had roasted chicken for Savannah too. Two kids sleeping on the Tokyo subway.

This is Sibuya District, just like Times Square--very hip, young, and mega--a three floor Starbucks.

Amazing--crowded, but nobody bumps you, everyone is courteous and it is so clean.

Sisterly and Brotherly Love

There is no greater joy to fill a parent's heart than seeing your children together. I love holding both of them, but seeing them together, just melts my heart. We will have years of joy watching our children grow up as brother and sister and go through all the ups and downs, but they will always have each other.

Savannah is handling the introduction of her brother in such a mature way. It is clear she understands this on a higher level. She knows he is not just some baby visiting. She does not have tantrums, act out, and she has not regressed. She gives him kisses and talks about him. She says she loves him. She is an amazing big sister already. She says "shhhh" when he is crying, gets his bottle, diapers, powder, etc. When he cries she asks if he wants to eat, needs a change, etc. She tries to guess. She brings him a blanket. She has stopped crying when he cries and says "talk" because I told he cries because he can't talk to let Mommy and Daddy know he needs something. He has to leave for a few days to get his passport, so we will see how she reacts when he is not here. We are just overjoyed.
