Six Month Seth Stats

Seth had his 6 month well baby check today. He got the first part of his flu vaccine, his 3rd Hep B and another vaccine. He will get his 2nd part of the flu vaccine in a month and no vaccines on his 9 month visit. Yeah. He is sleeping soundly and peacefully now. Everyone thought he was adorable. His stats are as follows: 17 lbs 2 1/2 oz (40th %), 26 1/2 inches (50th %) and 18 cm HC (80th %). He has a big brain. He is really healthy and developing normally, on track with his milestones. He is such a great baby. No teeth visible, but lots of redness. His pediatrician recommended giving him 1/3 rd of a teaspoon of Benedryl for relief. I thought that wasn't recommended by the FDA for children under 6. He said phooy to that. It is fine and the only side effect is drowsey. I wouldn't mind him sleeping a little longer, but I know Rich will say no way. He is going to start flouride, since we have well water and it is not flourinated. He can eat anything we want to give him as long as it isn't a choking hazard and no milk, egg whites, honey or nuts. He is growing up way too fast, but we are so proud of him and love him with our hearts.

Sweet Sister Savannah

Savannah is truly a loving, sweet, gentle and kind big sister. She is taking on more and more of the nuturing role and wants to do more with Seth to play and take care of him. She turned 3 1/2 on September 17th and I already see more maturity. She is getting into the "groove" at school now. I had a conversation with her teacher and they are now taking her to the potty and she was dry and using the toilet at school this week. She is starting to blossom there, follow rules, listen and make friends. She is becoming more social and outgoing. She is exceling in her swimming class and starts dance this week. We are so proud of our big girl! So beautiful Reading to her little brother as he tries to bite the book.

I love to watch them interact together and it will only get better and better.

Teething Baby

After 3 months of drool there is evidence that Seth is getting teeth. They have not emerged through the gums yet, but there are two red spots on the lower jaw indicating that teeth are about to come through. Poor baby! He is still so sweet, but not eating and sleeping as well as usual and wants to be held all the time, especially by Mommy. He is drooling more than ever and putting everything in his mouth. We should see some pearly whites come through in the next few days and then hopefully he will feel better too. For now it is infant Tylenol, Orajel, cold teethers and teething biscuts. We went apple, peach, and pear picking today at a local farm. It was so much fun. We forgot the camera, so the pictures are on the iPhone to be uploaded to the computer. Savannah was so into it this year and very excited. Can't wait to go get our pumpkin next month. Seth slept almost the entire time. So much for first apple picking experience. There will be many more to come in New England.

Seth's Welcoming

On Sunday (I have been tryng for 3 days to upload photos and Blogger has not been very cooperative, so don't mind the order, I am just glad they are here) we had Seth's Baby Welcoming and Naming. We had a ceremony at our congregation and Seth was named and welcomed and then we had a reception afterwards at a local restaurant called Tango, which is an Argentinian/Italian Bistro. It is so nice there and the food is all made there and delicious. We were surrounded by loved ones and it was a wonderful way to welcome and share our darling son. We love you Seth!
