Meeting Yamato--Our Son, So Long in Our Hearts, Finally in Our Arms

March 28th 2009 will be a day etched in our hearts and minds forever, just like April 15, 2006. That is the only day that compares to this one. The day we met our children. It is an amazing feeling that cannot quite be described in words. We got to meet our daughter at 4 weeks old (of course we had to say good bye and she did not come home for another 7 months) and we met our son 16 days and will stay and bring him home at 6-7 weeks. We are so blessed.
At 11 a.m. our coordinator came over and we met her and it was like a long lost friend. Taz is the most caring, lovely, warm, and sincere person you will ever meet. She is just amazing and we are better people just knowing her. She is so unselfish and giving. It is her mission to bring families together. How admirable! Savannah loved her immediately. She bonded with her very quickly. Children have a sense when they are in the presence of people who love them.
About a half an hour later Okada-San (the agency director in Japan and foster mother of our baby) brought the baby along with one of her staff and her daughter. Her daughter and Savannah got along great and there was no language barrier. The brought things for the baby and shopping bag of gifts for Savannah. What generosity! These people are incredible and they will always be "family."
Meeting Yamato was an amazing, emotional and our space in all our hearts was just filled. We knew at first glance he is our son. He is so precious.
We are enjoying bonding as a family in our son's birth country. This is a gift.

Meeting Taz, our coordinator and friend. She is like family to us. Savannah loved her right away because she is so warm and sweet. We are waiting for Yamato to arrive.
