Celebration!

We finally went out for Japanese food last night and we obviously did not know what we were missing going out to the American restaurants and having pizza and pasta every night. I don't know if it was so good because it was different and unique or it was just delicious. We went out on West Walk in Roppongi Hills, which is a huge shopping and dining plaza that extends many blocks and includes museums, a theater, and tower sky view, 4 Starbucks, Banana Republic, Escada, Louis Vutton, Kate Spade, Tiffany's, Cold Stone Creamery, Bagel, Bagel, and a myriad of many other delights. It was built in 2003 to jump start the sagging economy and change the environment in Roppongi which is a pretty wild nightlife district in the evening. Mina, at the reception desk here at the Oakwood, called around to many different restaurants to make us reservation. She is so sweet. We gave her a hard task--Japanese food, vegetarian, no smoking. We ended up at Yasaiya Mei and it was a winner. They have Japanese cuisine with almost all vegetables. We ate tempura of 7 different route vegetables, got an amazing appetizer of raw exotic vegetables with a delicious dip, asparagus with miso, and yams. We brought food for Savannah, but she ended up eating an entire dish of Japanese rice and kept asking for more. She even tried some of the raw veggies. It was so nice and then 4 people from London sat down at the table next to us and asked us what we were eating because they are vegetarian. We started talking to them and they were so friendly and warm. They really liked Savannah. It was a young couple (her husband is working in Tokyo for a year) and her parents visiting from London. After dinner we went out for a special treat. We went to Motoyama Milk Bar and had a blueberry cheese cake ice cream parfait. We shared it because it is large (and expensive) and it was delicious. What a perfect ending to a marvelous, happy, memorable day. And, Savannah's behavior was stellar again in the Embassy and at dinner. She is adjusting to the baby and being such a good girl. Love her so much. We are so in love and proud of both our children. What a wonderful thing to say--BOTH our children. We have three more days in Tokyo. I think we may head to Tokyo Dome City today. I don't think the Giants are playing, but there is a lot to do and and see there. We are also planning on attending a huge chidren's event taking place in Roppongi Hills from 4/25-5/10 called Sky Kids Park at Tokyo City View. We can't read the brochure, but from the pictures it looks like they are going to set up a playground, have arts and crafts, and maybe even a ballpit and a gym with mats. I am sure Savannah will enjoy it.

Still waiting--she took down her hair and it is so long. I got it cut before our trip to FL, but it grew fast.

Dessert has arrived. They know how to make and eat dessert here. Live life to the fullest!

Digging right in--she has been such an amazing girl all she has been through in the last month. She deserves it. What a wonderful daughter and big sister. I always tell her she is my best girl and then she says, "Best Girl, NaNah!"

When she realized that was ice cream on the top and not whipped cream she decided it should be licked like an ice cream cone. Good thing we share everything in this family.

After a wonderful night of celebration...bright and early at 7:00 a.m. here is one happy baby!
