Joyful June

Do you think Seth had fun at Six Flags?  That is dried mango that he said he wanted and that he was "hungy" but sleep over took him before he got to eat.

 All time favorite
Welcome to 6 Flags Over New England for the first time this season
 Kiddie tea cups
First time on the ferris wheel herself since she is finally 42 inches
 Way up high
Having tons of fun in the soft play area
 Just love this picture
 Where to play next
 He is up to something
 Why doesn't this open?
 Swing fun
Looks like he is holding on for dear life, but he actually liked it and went on twice
 Happy face after the ride
 Enjoying the rocking boat ride
Has to sit in number 5, because she is 5.  She loves the free fall kids ride
 Another swing ride
 Catching butterflies
 On landed on Seth's foot
 Another on Savannah's elbow
Getting a closer look and getting it to go onto her hand
Laughing about the butterflies landing on her
 How pretty
You can tell how excited she is
 Being very gentle
Up close with the big butterfly
 Just beautiful
 Lovely butterflies
 Another one came to her
Just missed it on Seth's finger
Love them on the purple flowers
 The butterfly pass
 Searching for butterflies
 Found one
 Holding butterflies with Daddy
 At dinner in Niantic
 Face painting surprise
 Flower girl
Relaxing outside on the deck to live music, boats, and food
 Caught a big smile
 Acting shy and cute
Playing with the breadsticks

We had a great weekend filled with fun and sun!  Rich worked on Saturday until about 2 p.m. and then we went to the special butterfly Pavillion in Norwich which they have been doing for the last 4 years to raise money to build a botanical garden that will have a permanent butterfly exhibit, Japanese Garden and Children's play area.  It is going to be 400 acres.  So for three days they had 1000 butterflies in a Pavillion and they were letting them go today.  But before that the public could come observe them and have the butterflies land on you and see them up close.  Savannah is a butterfly lover, so even though we went to the butterfly conservatory in MA, she still wanted to go to this.  After the butterflies we drove to the water to eat an early dinner and got lucky to find a place called Sunset Ribs on the Marina in Niantic (since the place we went 7 years ago in the same area is out of business).  It was a great find with live music and a beautiful view of boats and the drawbridge. It was very relaxing and the kids were very well behaved becasue there was a lot to do and see.

On Sunday we decided to use our season pass for the first time for Six Flags Over New England.  We got there a little before 4 and stayed until 7 which was the perfect amount of time and the crowds were not too bad so the kids could freely play and enjoy without long waits in the heat.  The weather was perfect for an amusement park.  Even though they changed the park a lot with no more Wiggles or Thomas, the kids still had fun on the Merry Go Round, Tea Cups, boats, planes, cars, jeeps, hellicopters, and on the soft play area.  It is great to see Seth enjoying and understanding it so much.  He can even tell you that his favorite ride in the Merry Go Round where you go on the horse and have to hold on and you go up and down.

This weekend we are headed to Lake George and Lake Placid for Rich to run the Lake Placid 1/2 marathon on Sunday the 12th.  We will stop in Lake George to break up the trip a bit and go to the Great Escape too.  Then 4th of July we head to Seasme Place.  They are going to truly love it.
