Beach Birthday

We made it to the beach for Rich's birthday! Hooray! It is always nice weather on August 14th, so who cares about the 12th and 13th. We got two glorious beach days. Missed the city and steak, but we will catch that in October when we go to Boston for the American Academy of Family Physicians conference. You can always have fun in the city, but don't always get a beach day. We had a fabulous time. The best thing is that we just walked across the street. No hassle or parking or anything. We are in an ideal location. Also, the beach is so family oriented--bumper boats, merry go round, playground, water slide, rock wall, beach store, rentals, snack bar, etc. It has everything in one location. The water was warm for New England and it was low tide and Savannah had a ball. She is such a beach girl. Now we also have a beach boy. Seth really enjoyed the beach a lot and the sea breeze put him to sleep many times and he was precious in his sun hut. After our beach time my dad and Sheila joined us in Newport and we went out Italian for Rich's birthday to Sardella's. The food was excellent it was just crowded and the service a bit slow. But, it is slow everywhere here. Even though we are still in New England, it is a resort town. The pace is slower than home or in the cities.

I cannot tell you how much she enjoyed the bumper boats. She went on over and over again. She said, "Bomper Boats by myself. Drive by myself."
You don't get happier than that
